What will Glasnost do for me?

Glasnost will save you time, help you organise your life or work more efficiently and enable you to do more, more efficiently than ever before.

What URL will our Glasnost have?

All Glasnost clients will benefit from their own domain name in the format xxxxx.glasnost21.com, so for example our own Glasnost is found at estatestoday.glasnost21.com

Do we need any support from our IT department?

All you need to use Glasnost is an internet connection (preferably broadband), a web browser such as IE 7 or later or Firefox or Safari and Adobe Flash installed in your browser (Version 9 or later).

Where is our data stored and how safe is it?

Our servers, software and databases are housed in a Tier 1 Data centre in the UK with fully redundant failover to another UK based data centre. Images and documents are stored securely using the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) which provides a highly-scalable, reliable, and low-latency data storage infrastructure. As of early 2009 S3 was being used to store over 52 billion objects and serve over 1 trillion requests per year from customers in over 90 countries.

How much does Glasnost cost?

Glasnost pricing is simple and transparent. Four packages are available where the only variables are Internal Users, External Users (who can have access to Project and Image Management but not your own internal Contact Management) and the amount of storage space you require. Pricing is monthly with no contract. Simple.

How can we keep track of system users and how much storage we have used?

System Administrators can view, in real time, all key statistics relating to System Usage.

Is Glasnost available in any other language than English?

Not at the moment but please contact us at contact@glasnost21.com if you have an interest in this.

What do I do if I've forgotten my password?

You simply click on 'Forgotten your password' on the log in page, enter your email address and we will email your your password.

What file types can I upload in Glasnost?

You should have no problem uploading any of the usual files we are all used to working with, but if you have a problem with any file types please let us know. Most likely we will be able to help.

I have an idea for improving Glasnost - what should I do?

Please let us know by emailing us at contact@glasnost21.com - we ARE interested and will respond.

How do we incorporate our own branding in Glasnost?

All clients can customise the colour scheme and logo for their own version of Glasnost. System Administrators can do this by clicking on the Style option under Licensing Admin and adjusting colours as they wish. Please note if you change the logo your image should be no more than 65 pixels in height.

Do you virus check documents being uploaded by users?

We do not virus check documents as this is best done by the uploader or downloader themselves. We do though of course virus check the Glasnost infrastructure on a regular basis.

How do we get help if we need it?

We are aiming to make as much 'Help' information as possible available online. Please click on the Help link in the top navigation bar of Glasnost to view this. If you cannot find what you need then please email as at contact@glasnost21.com (or click on Contact Us at the top of the Glasnost application). We really will reply as soon as possible.

Will Glasnost work with all browsers?

As Glasnost runs as an Adobe Flex Application it should work in all browsers that work with flash. it certainly does work in IE, Firefox and Safari. Where it does not work (such as the Flashless iphone) you can make use of the RSS feeds to keep up to date with all your Glasnost's activity.

How much does Glasnost cost?

Can I be billed via invoice instead of by credit card?

No. We will provide invoices but payment is only available by Credit Card.

How do we upgrade or downgrade our package?

System Administrators have the ability to change the package with immediate effect. the only proviso being you cannot downgrade your package if you have too many users or are currently use more storage space than the package allows.

How do I cancel our account?

You cancel your monthly payment and email us at contact@glasnost21.com - please note thought that subsequently all your data will be deleted.

How do I change my credit card details?

The account holder needs to do this via their PayPal Account.

How will I know if I'm running out of storage space or 'spare' users?

System Administrators can view, in real time, all key statistics relating to System Usage.

Will I receive a monthly VAT invoice?

Yes, you will receive a monthly VAT invoice.
